Studeback Drivers Club to hold meet in Gering this weekend

Stuart Tritt and Perry Meyers join Kevin Mooney on KNEB's News Extra program Wednesday morning to promote the Western Wheels Studebaker Drivers Club meet to be held in Gering this Friday through Sunday, August 17th through 19th.

Registration is open for anyone owning a Studebaker or Packard automobile or truck. Registration can be made by calling Stuart Tritt at 308-235-3385 or Perry Meyers at 308-783-5144, or register at Monument Inn and Suites in Gering. Registration goes from 8 am to 5 pm Friday and again from 7 am to noon on Saturday.

The public is invited to a special presentation by Ranger Jerry Lucas at Scottsbluff National Monument Friday evening at 8 pm. His talk will be about the impact Studebaker wagons had on settling the west. Jerry has been working on this project for over a year to guarantee its authenticity.

The public is also invited to a Studebaker-Packard car show at Legion Park in Gering on Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm. There could be as many as 70 Studebakers and Packards on display.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Western Wheels chapter!
