Ducks Unlimited 75th Anniversary and Spotted Tail Wetlands dedication

Hod Kosman, Platte River Basin Environments President was guest on News Extra Wednesday morning promoting the Ducks Unlimited 75th Anniversary Celebration, in conjunction with the Platte River Basin Environments Spotted Tail Wetlands Project Dedication this Saturday, April 28th at the Scotts Bluff County Fairgrounds in Mitchell.

The event is free and open to the public.  (Lunch tickets may be purchased at registration)

It starts at 9 a.m. with free donuts and coffee.  There will be indoor hands-on activities as well as outdoor demonstrations and activities from 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

At 9:30 a.m. "Promise in a New Land" with acclaimed storyteller Cherrie Beam-Clarke.

At 12:30 p.m. Cherrie Beam-Clarke returns with "Nature Naturally."   Humorous stories for all ages.

At 1:45 p.m. a shuttle will be available to take people to the Spotted Tail Wetlands Dedication site. (1 1/2 miles west of the fairgrounds on County Road E)  There is limited parking at the dedication site so please use the shuttle.







The Dedication Ceremony takes place at 2:00 p.m. Hod will recognize Clive Ostenberg, Chet Fliesbach and Fliesbach family members.  Ken Babcock, Ducks Unlimited Director of Conservation, Vision & Priorities will recognize the Spotted Tail Wetlands Project as the official Nebraska Ducks Unlimited 75th Anniversary Project.  Additional dignitaries will address the value of partnerships in conservation.  Refreshments following the ceremony.
