Jeff Nichols, Nebraska Dry Bean Grower's Association President was Tuesday morning's guest on KNEB's News Extra program. Jeff was here to promote "Bean Day" going on today (Tuesday) at the Gering Civic Center.
The event will feature a number of programs and speakers throughout the day, including presentations from the Panhandle Research and Extension Center, 21st Century Water Technology, the U.S. Dry Bean Council, Platte Valley Bank, Nebraska Water Balance Alliance, and there will be a legislative update.
One of the featured speakers of the day will be John Burge, Executive Director of the National Food and Agricultural Council in the Office of the Secretary at USDA. Burge will speak at 10:45 with a message from the Secretary including budget, farm bill and trade.
The event wraps up at 3 p.m. with a Grand Prize Drawing.
